Hi MRN :) I guess the 275kV pylons can be a bit smaller and closer to the ground, due to the reduced arc distance at the lower voltage. Yep I was a nerd in my early teens too, pirate radio, telephone systems, and synthesisers (like the VCS3), long before micros were available. The college where my father worked even had an ICL 1202 valve computer - huge bl00dy thing, taking up the whole basement, with magnetic drum storage, makes a CDC 6400 look small in comparison (but not in CPU speed, lol). Did you have any fun in the rain by ther way? By the way, velcro'ing my umbrella dress to my leggings almost worked, fixing (almost) the backstroke problem (full story on Nigel's forum). Always fill your day with wonderful things :)
